Xerox Business Solutions experienced a data breach which was limited to Xerox Business Solutions US and was contained by its cybersecurity team.

In a recent cybersecurity incident, Xerox Business Solutions US faced a data breach that prompted swift action from its cybersecurity team. While the breach was confined to this specific sector and didn’t impact Xerox’s overall corporate systems or operations, a comprehensive investigation revealed the compromise of personal information.

Xerox, in an official incident notice on its website, stated that their preliminary findings suggest a limited impact on personal information within the Xerox Business Solutions environment. Following their policy and standard operating procedure, Xerox commits to notifying all affected individuals as required.

“Our preliminary investigation indicates that limited personal information in the XBS environment may have been affected. As per our policy and standard operating procedure, we will notify all affected individuals as required,” Xerox said in an incident notice on its website.

Despite the ongoing investigation, Xerox has yet to disclose specific details about which groups (clients, employees, or partners) may have been affected by the data breach.

The incident took a concerning turn when a ransomware gang named Inc Ransom claimed responsibility for the attack. On December 30, the group showcased Xerox on its Tor-based leak site, sharing screenshots of allegedly stolen documents as proof of intrusion.

However, since that date, the entry related to Xerox was mysteriously taken down. This suggests the possibility of communication between Xerox and the attackers, potentially aiming to prevent the compromised data from being published online..
