Chicago, IL, US, 60601, DePaul University Job Identification: 1224 Locations: , , , , Job Schedule: Part time Job Category: Marketing, Comm & Ext Affairs The Highlights: Reporting to the Director of the Community Music Division (CMD), the Marketing and Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for 1) developing and implementing marketing/engagement strategies for the CMD, 2) managing the off-site partnership programs, and 3) coordinating the school’s annual fundraiser to secure dollars for need-based financial aid programs. The Coordinator collaborates with the SOM Director of Marketing and DePaul Director of Community Relations as well as Chicago Public School (CPS) administration and arts personnel to ensure representation of DePaul CMD across all areas. What You’ll Do: Develop, implement, and evaluate marketing and engagement strategies to promote the CMD’s visibility and image to prospective students, families, CPS partners, and donors in the community. Collaborate with SOM Director of Marketing and DePaul Director of Community Relations to assure representation of the CMD at DePaul and in the community.
Manage creation, production, and distribution of all print and electronic materials including brochures, flyers, announcements, and the CMD monthly newsletter. Includes coordinating relationships with external designers, photographers and printers; and writing copy for all publications. Maintain schedule and timeline for all marketing materials and community engagement activities. Create content and maintain the CMD’s website and social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter,and Instagram.
Mange logistics for the CPS Partnership Program. Includes site visits, communication with teaching artists and CPS personnel, coordinating CPS background checks, making teacher artist assignments, and implementing student assessment. Work collaboratively with the CMD Director and utilize resources of Ingenuity, Inc. to enhance and expand the CPS Partnership Program. Coordinate the annual all-school fundraiser Performathon and online Auction which collects dollars for our need-based financial aid programs as well as plan, execute marketing strategies for other special events including the Concerto Festival and the annual Patron Party.
Create and edit video content for all special events. Supervise and manage relationships with external designers, photographers, and printers. Supervise 2-4 student workers for special events such as Concerto Festival and Perfomathon. Responsible for creating the CMD’s Marketing Budget.
What You’ll Need: For consideration, please include a resume and cover letter. Bachelor’s degree (minimum) required with strong music and arts administration focus; 2+ years marketing and events planning experience. Required skills: Excellent organizational, written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. Outgoing personality, self-starter, detail-oriented.
Ability to handle multiple tasks, set priorities and meet deadlines. Must function well in a small office environment where collaboration and teamwork are essential. Advanced proficiency in Word and Excel in Mac OS; knowledge of desktop publishing in Mac OS; experience with mass e-mail program such as Constant Contact or Mail Chimp, website maintenance and e-marketing. Preferred Skills: Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator â“ ability to adjust image sizes and layout text; understanding of the differences in formatting images and designs for either print or web; ability to manage and convert a variety of file types including PSD, AI, PDF, JPG; Ability to perform mail merge and use basic equations; ability to make basic HTML adjustments; understanding of best practices for social media platforms â“ write taglines, format posts correctly, create events, etc.; understanding of file types and file sizes for Audio/Video editing.
This is a year-round position requiring 25 hours per week. Must be willing to work additional evening and weekend hours as needed for special events. Ability to travel off-site. Ability to sit in front of a computer screen for long periods of time.
