Spokane, Washington, Marketing and Public Relations Writer Available Title(s): 197J-YN_CS_NPS – Communications Consultant 2 Business Title: Marketing and Public Relations Writer Employee Type: Classified Time Type: Full time Position Term: 12 Month Position Details: Summary of Duties: The Marketing and Public Relations Writer is primary lead for developing, researching, writing and editing promotional, marketing and public relations materials that advance the reputation and reach of the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine. This position coordinates and liaisons with internal and external stakeholders to produce collateral that may include feature stories, research features, brochures, web pages, news releases, newsletters, annual reports, advertisements, and other marketing collateral. This role is integral in supporting the College of Medicine’s public relations and communication goals.

The selected candidate must have experience writing marketing materials for multiple audiences. Strong organizational and project management skills, as well as a proven ability to work in a matrixed role are essential. Essential Job Functions: 50% Content Writing 25% Strategic Content Distribution 20% Content Sourcing 5% Other Required Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, journalism, humanities, public relations, OR related field AND one (1) year of writing/editing/public relations experience; OR equivalent education/experience. Additional Requirements: Demonstrated experience in writing for a variety of media and styles, including brand stories and profiles, research features, news releases (Associated Press style), event promotion materials, blog posts, print and digital advertising and web copy.

Experience using Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel programs. Proven ability to generate innovative ideas and implement them into creative marketing strategies. Preferred Qualifications: Professional experience in marketing in a higher education environment. Experience working in a large institutional or corporate environment.

Experience working in fast-paced environments and quickly producing high-quality, accurate content. Additional Information: Area/College: Elson S.
