Potomac , Maryland, Armchair Academics LLC is looking for a public relations specialist and marketing strategist to contribute to the planning and execution of a PR campaign for a nine-episode animated documentary series titled “The Animated History of Tibet”. The position would involve the the promotion of the series across multiple social media platforms and the organization of promotional events through social media, as well as assistance in marketing the project on YouTube and other media platforms.
Qualifications and Experience: – Based in North America (preferred). – Experience in PR, preferably in the U.S. market. – Knowledge of social media marketing is advantageous. – Familiarity with YouTube is desirable but not mandatory. – Interest in the Asian region and experience with film materials is a plus. – Language skills (Tibetan or Mandarin) are a potential advantage. – Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. – Flexibility and adaptability to changing marketing strategies and tasks. – Intercultural sensitivity in handling content related to Tibet. – Basic knowledge of video production and project management skills. – Location: Remote
Compensation and Benefits:
– Project-based work terminating in February 2024 with the possibility to renew or extend contract. – Freelance work with mutually agreed-upon schedules and budgets.

Project Description: “The Animated History of Tibet” is a nine-part animated documentary series featuring original artwork, maps, motion comic animation, and interviews with leading specialists in Tibetan history and culture from universities across Europe and the United States. The project is produced in collaboration with Tibet House US and is set to be released in February 2024. We have $15,000 set aside for the work, which would be used to cover a period of 5/6 months leading up to the series’ release in February 2024.
